If you had the option to lead 1,000 people to Christ every single day of your life, versus making just one disciple a year—who would then go out and make another disciple of his own each year—which option would you choose?
While it may seem enticing to end each year with 365,000 new believers, this chart shows the impact of making disciples who make disciples over time.
No doubt, both are seeing people added to the kingdom—praise God!—but the disciple-maker is seeing his or her efforts multiplied by the billions and is inadvertently reaching the world for Christ.
This is exactly why Jesus commanded His followers in Matthew 28:19 to “go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” As people set out to know Jesus and make Him known in their every day lives, Jesus knew that it was only a matter of time before the gospel spread to the nations.
Simple disciple-making in the local church is God’s means to reach the world for Christ.
Friends, this is the kind of impact that you could have for Christ. It could start with you! Let’s make disciple-making our life’s ambition until the whole world hears the good news of Jesus.
